Ian Wallace began producing picture books after graduating from the Ontario College of Art at a time when publishing children's books in Canada was a fledgling industry. Almost 30 years later, Ian is one of Canada's most celebrated and internationally recognized authors and illustrators of books for young people.

During his travels across Canada, the US, Australia, the UK, and most recently China, Ian has read to over 800,000 children in schools and libraries and worked with countless teachers to further the understanding of story through picture.

Ian is often asked if he would consider selling his original art. Not quite ready to part with it, he decided to produce a series of limited edition prints from two of his award-winning books that have become Canadian classics.

From Chin Chiang and the Dragon's Dance (Groundwood, 1984; winner of the Canadian Library Association's Amelia Frances Howard-Gibbon Award for Illustration, the IODE Book Award, the IBBY Honour Book List and Newsweek Magazine's Best of the Year List; over 100,000 copies sold): The Dragon Cover and The Staircase.

From Very Last First Time (written by Jan Andrews; Groundwood, 1985); winner of the White Raven Award – Bologna International Book Fair (Italy) and named to the American Library Association's Notable Book List; over 75,000 copies sold): Eva Under Ice #4: Holding Candle – Seaweed Pool and Eva Under Ice #5: Mittened Hand to Face.

The limited edition prints have been exquisitely reproduced in full colour on Gallery 100 acid-free fine-art paper to ensure that the reproductions reflect the quality of the original watercolours. Numbered, labeled, and signed by Ian, each print is accompanied with a brief description of the artist and an autographed copy of the book in which the illustrations are found.
